In 1977, I made a life-changing decision: I enlisted in the United States Air Force. Driven by a strong sense of duty and patriotism, I spent the next nine years serving across the globe — from Japan, the Philippines, and Korea to Florida and Utah. These years weren’t just about military service; they were about building resilience, fostering teamwork, and gaining a deeper understanding of global communities.
During my time in the Air Force, I was deeply honored to be named Airman of the Year for the Far East and received both the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal — recognitions that reflect my commitment to integrity, excellence, and service.
